The National Covid-19 Recovery Plan As Announced By PM | All You Need To Know:
Malaysia‘s PM Muhyiddin Yassin has addressed the nation in a special announcement, revealing the nation's Covid-19 recovery plan.
According to the announcement, The Covid-19 National Recovery Plan comprises of 4 distinctive phases based on data that are parallel to three primary indicators or thresholds:
1. Community spread based on new daily cases.
2. Hospital ICU bed capacity
3. the percentage of the population that has achieved full vaccination.
As for the four phases, here are the important details:
What's the First Phase?
• Referring to the current lockdown. (FMCO)
• The government will consider progressing to the next phase only if:
- Daily cases fall below 4,000
- The healthcare system progresses past its critical capacity and ICU bed capacity returns to average
- 10% of the population have been fully vaccinated
What will happen in the Second Phase?
• social activities and interstate/district travel will still be prohibited.
• The economy will then be allowed to operate in stages with 80% of employees permitted on premises.
- Daily Covid-19 cases fall below 2,000
- The healthcare system is at a manageable level
- 40% of the population have been fully vaccinated
What about the Third Phase?
• The focus will shift from positive lists to negative lists, meaning all economic activity will no longer be prohibited except for those under the negative list.
• During this phase, social activities including education and sports are allowed in stages.
What will happen then in the Fourth Phase?
• All economic sectors will return to operate in Phase 4 and more social activities, interstate/district travel, and domestic travel will be permitted - although all of it will still be subjected to strict SOPs.
In his announcement, Muhyiddin also announced that the Parliament will be reopening around September or October, given that the nation has passed the fourth phase by then.
If everything goes as planned, we'll slowly return to normal as early as August, or up until November. Let's hope our vaccination rates can catch up to these plans, thus escalating the transition between phases. #KitaJagaKita and stay safe, folks.
