"Earning RM3K Is Not Enough!" M’sian Denied Entry To South Korea After The Country's Immigration Examined His Salary Payslip

In a recent turn of events, Malaysians are expressing confusion over reported entry rejections into South Korea. The incident, shared by Twitter user @_modahh, involves her brother facing a two-hour ordeal at Incheon airport's immigration area, where his entry was denied despite being well-prepared with essential documents such as K-ETA, printed return flight details, hotel reservations, and sufficient cash.

According to the Twitter user, immigration authorities went beyond standard requirements by requesting her brother's salary payslip. Shockingly, even with a basic salary of RM3000, they deemed it insufficient, branding him as suspicious. The immigration department provided a few slips detailing the grounds for the entry refusal, citing a failure to meet all the requirements specified in Article 12(3).

This incident has sparked discussions among Malaysians, with some suggesting that stringent regulations are being imposed, particularly targeting Malaysians, as a measure to curb illegal immigration. South Korea has witnessed an influx of individuals seeking job opportunities, and authorities seem to be taking extra precautions to prevent illegal immigration, potentially leading to increased scrutiny on Malaysian travelers.

Another Malaysian also shared similar ordeal, citing insufficient cash as reason of entry refusal into the country.
