A recent incident in Perlis has sparked controversy and concerns among some members of the public regarding the signage of a hotel called "All In," situated in the heart of the city. The issue arose when a small number of individuals pointed out that the hotel's signboard bore a resemblance to the Arabic word "Allah," leading to complaints received by the Perlis City Center.
State Religious Secretary, Mohd Asri, stepped into the fray, addressing the concerns and expressing his perspective on the matter. In a Facebook post, Asri clarified that while the hotel sign read "All In," some people interpreted it as resembling "Allah." He emphasized that the intention behind the hotel name was not to reference "Allah" but to denote "All In."
Moreover, the hotel operators have expressed their apprehensions over the matter, as the "All In" branding is already prevalent across various hotel products. Mohd Asri further stated that, "Only if we find someone deliberately teasing Muslims then we take appropriate action. Otherwise, we should not create problems."
In response to inquiries, Asri revealed that he engaged with the objectors to gather insights into the situation. When asked about the hotel's name, the respondents confirmed it as "All In," affirming the intentions behind the branding choice.
