In a distressing incident, a 42-year-old police sergeant is currently under investigation for the alleged rape of a 16-year-old student between September and October of the previous year. The crime is said to have occurred in front of a police station and a supermarket parking lot in the Perak Tengah district during that period.
The revelation came to light when the victim recently confided in her mother about the traumatic incident. Accompanied by a family member, the victim provided her statement at the Perak Tengah district police headquarters under Section 112 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

According to sources, the suspect's identity was determined through the telephone number found on the victim's phone. Police seized two mobile phones, belonging to both the victim and the suspect.
Perak Tengah police chief Superintendent Hafezul Helmi Hamzah confirmed the ongoing investigation, citing that the case is being probed under Section 376 of the Penal Code, which deals with rape offenses.
As of the latest update, no arrests have been made as the police are awaiting a medical report from the hospital.
