Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has announced that they are offering a 50% discount on traffic summons through online payment from May 18 until May 21.
The motorists can pay their summons online via www.myeg.com.my and www.rilek.com.my to enjoy the half-price discounts.
According to The Star, Bukit Aman Traffic Investigations and Enforcement Department director Deputy Comm (DCP) Datuk Azisman Alias said,
"We understand some may be facing difficulties during the movement control order (MCO) while others may be preparing to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri,"
DCP Azisman also said traffic service counters at district police headquarters nationwide would start reopening in stages beginning May 18 to facilitate summons payments as well as insurance documentation for road accidents.
He said the discount is offered to relieve the burdens of the public who are facing many difficulties during MCO and preparation for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
The counters at Perlis, Pulau Pinang, Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak. Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan,will be opened on Monday to Wednesday, from 9 am until 2 pm, while 9 am until 12 pm on Friday.
For Kedah, Johor, Kelantan, and Terengganu, the counters will be opened on Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday, from 9 am until 2 pm.
DCP Azisman also advised motorists to be mindful of standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the conditional MCO when dealing with the counters.
