In an unexpected turn of events, UK-based American musician Kyle Green, who currently resides in Portugal, found himself unwittingly caught in the crossfire of frustrated SPM students in Malaysia. The confusion arose after a recording of his interview was mentioned in the SPM listening test, leaving some students convinced that his rapid speech had hindered their test performance.
Following the exam, disgruntled students took to social media, specifically targeting Kyle Green on Instagram to express their frustration. Despite the fictional character having no connection to the musician, the students bombarded his Instagram account with comments and messages, and even went as far as harassing him with phone calls via WhatsApp.
Kyle Green, unaware of the situation, posted several Instagram stories expressing his perplexity at the sudden influx of messages and comments. The musician, known for his work in the UK music scene, seemed bemused by the unexpected attention from Malaysian students.
However, as news of the misdirected frustration spread, several Malaysians took it upon themselves to rectify the situation. They flooded Kyle Green's comment section with apologies on behalf of the misbehaving students, explaining the mix-up and expressing remorse for the unwarranted backlash.
Fortunately, Kyle Green doesn't seem to take it personally, and wished the kids good luck on their exams. In a recent Instagram story, he mentioned that he paid no attention to the negative comments and expressed gratitude for the apologetic messages from Malaysians addressing the behavior of some of their peers.
