With the airing of the last episode of The King: Eternal Monarch on June 12, viewers were satisfied with the closure of the drama albeit it being a bittersweet one. Though the highly-anticipated drama had first gone through a bumpy intro and faced some criticism, with increasing suspense and several plot twists, they managed to save the ratings moving towards the end of the drama.
