The family-owned legacy business of selling processed chicken has been taken over by someone who previously ruled the skies as a flight attendant for 13 years.

Nurhafaniza Yusuf, also known as Niza, acknowledges that her career appeared to be coming to an end when she was dismissed from Malaysia Airlines (MAS).

Niza was not the only one who was laid off; 6000 other MAS employees as well in 2016 as part of the airline's restructuring strategy.

Yet, this did not dampen her zeal, as she was eager to carry on the family legacy.

Everything occurs for a reason, in Niza's opinion, and everything has a purpose, especially since the moment she took over the company was also the moment her mother became ill and suffered a mild stroke.

Her mother has been selling processed chicken at Kelantan's Pasar Siti Khadijah for almost 30 years.

She took over the business immediately after being laid off.

Her work etiquette as a flight attendant remained constant, as she implemented whatever skills and knowledge she gained while working for MAS, which aided her in the market.
