Men... when will they stop?
A 33-year-old Information Technology (IT) worker was arrested by the police after he was caught recording a video, using his smartphone, of a 14-year-old female minor in the public restroom of a shopping mall in Bandar Utama.
According to the Petaling Jaya District Police Chief and Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid, they received a report on the incident made by the victim's mother.
"According to the victim, she was informed by her 14 -year -old daughter that she saw a mobile phone placed in the window between the men's restroom and the women's restroom at 6.45 PM yesterday,“ Fakhrudin said. "When she confronted him, the man immediately fled."
After a struggle, the victim managed to snatch the phone away from the pervert, who then threw it towards her mother. In the end, the mall security guards stepped up once they witnessed the commotion. The pervert was handed straight to the police at around 7:15 PM.
The police found that the pervert had indeed recorded an inappropriate video of the victim whilst she was in the public restroom. As a result, the case is now being investigated in accordance with Section 377D of the Penal Code.
