At 10 AM today, the prime minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, presided over a special cabinet meeting at the Perdana Putra complex. The meeting is the unity government's federal ministers' inaugural cabinet gathering under the chairman of Pakatan Harapan.


Following the meeting, PM Anwar addressed a news conference where he made the following announcements:

+ All ministers have agreed to a 20% salary cut until economy recovers


+ Satire against the government or the prime minister is allowed under the democratic government. 


+ Muhyiddin's government committed a severe procedural breach involving RM600 billion, according to MoF officials.

+ The special gambling draw is reduced to 8 times a year compared to 22 times in 2022

+ Syed Mokhtar Al-Bukhary criticised for monopolising rice imports in the country


+ New ceiling price for eggs to be announced by minister Mat Sabu

+ DPM1 will be in charge of Peninsular flood preparations, while DPM2 would be in charge of Sarawak and Sabah regions.


It is understood that the Minister of International Trades and Industry. tengku Zafrul Aziz was absent during the cabinet's inaugural meeting. As reported by the News Straits Times, the minister is currently in Abu Dhabi for a trade mission and is expected to hold a press conference regarding the matter tomorrow morning.
