A distressing discovery unfolded at Queensbay Beach, Bayan Baru, as the body of a female infant was found washed up on Sunday evening.
Superintendent Kamarul Rizal Jenal, the Southwest District Police Chief, revealed that they were notified by the public about this discovery around 5:55 PM.
Initial investigations suggest that the infant's body might have been carried by ocean currents before being deposited onto the beach area.
In an official statement on Sunday, Kamarul Rizal stated, "The body has been transferred to the Penang Hospital Forensic Unit (HPP) for further examination."
He urged anyone possessing information related to the case to come forward and contact the nearest police station.
