It's true what they say: everybody is fighting their own silent battles that we might not know of.
A video went viral some time ago of a FoodPanda walker who had to walk more than 7 KM just to deliver food to his customer and apologized profusely for being late. Many people have expressed their sympathy for the FoodPanda walker and some have even offered to buy him a bicycle for his convenience.
A local philanthropist who goes by the TikTok handle @adrianedy7 made the decision to find the FoodPanda walker so he could learn more about his life. It turns out that he is Mohd Khairudin, a 23-year-old Semporna, Sabah native who is currently residing in Kota Kinabalu. He mentioned that he is the lone provider for his family because his father died when he was just 12 years old. He is currently working as a full-time walker for FoodPanda and would contribute some of his weekly wages to his mother back home.
According to him, there are times when he would need to book a Grab just to deliver food to his customers as the distance was simply unwalkable. He revealed that he has been planning to get himself a bicycle once his savings are enough.
Philanthropist @adrianedy7 surprised Khai with a brand new bicycle and that made him tear up. It was all in all a very tearful moment, and we wish Khai the best of luck in all his endeavors!
