Actress Puteri Sarah Liyana has revealed that she had been physically abused by her husband Syamsul Yusof, the Mat Kilau director, which prompted her to move out of their home back in 2020. She also confirmed that her mother in law was the one who rescued her from her son's assault.
This information was revealed after the troubled couple's divorce proceedings yesterday, and has been confirmed by the actress's lawyer. Following this, another actor has come forward allegedly providing another input to the situation. He, who is now married to Syamsul Yusof's previous partner, actress Diana Danielle alleged that his wife was also a victim of his abuse.
However her police report never prompted any further action, suggesting his influence to be the cause for the case to be mysteriously buried.
In his Instagram stories, he further denounced the act of hitting women, and emphasises that women are to be protected. Even though he did not mention any names, fans are speculating that this was targeted to Syamsul Yusof.
Unlike Puteri Sarah, Syamsul Yusof left the court immediately on the day of the procedding without speaking to the press.
