Tai highlighted popular foods like Hainanese chicken rice, bak kut teh, char kuey teow, and Nyonya kueh as originally Malaysian.

Tai argued that these culinary creations predated Singapore's separation and independence, implying that they were part of Malaysian cuisine long before being known as Singaporean specialties. However, one of the Singaporean guests defended by suggesting Singapore merely played a role in promoting these dishes globally, likening it to a form of "cultural exchange."

In addition to the culinary debate, Tai also commented on Singapore's attractions, referring to some as "man-made." He described the Rain Vortex in Jewel Changi Airport and Gardens by the Bay as man-made features, further labeling Siloso Beach and Wave House Sentosa as man-made beach and surfing sites, respectively.

Moreover, Tai advised against spending more than three days and two nights in Singapore, implying limited attractions and activities compared to neighboring countries.

You can watch the entire episode of the variety show linked below, where one segment intriguingly highlights the contrast between Singaporean Bak Kut Teh and Malaysian Bak Kut Teh, showcasing the reactions of the show hosts to these distinctive tastes:
