We can all have a bad night of sleep, and thats perfectly normal. But how can we try to improve both the quantity and the quality of our sleep.
Here are 5 hacks that you can use to get better sleep:
1. Put your phone away across from the room, and stick a physical book on your bedside table. This is how you can read for 20-30 minutes each night before your eyes get droopy & its easy to go to sleep.
2. Avoid having caffeine after lunch. Caffeine has a half-life of 5-7 hours and so if you drink some in the afternoon, it will still be in your system keeping you up by the time you want to go to bed.
3. Use blackout curtains. These are an absolute game changer for deeper quality sleep.
4. Try and keep your room colder than you think you should. 19°C seems to be the optimal amount.
5. Buy a physical alarm clock that you have all the way across the room. That way you have to get out of bed to turn your alarm off and it's easier to get up.
