Following the unfortunate incident with the Perodua Bezza owner, who experienced significant damage within 8 hours of collecting her car and successfully claimed compensation, there's another similar story, this time involving a Honda HR-V owner named Noriya Mamat.
She shared her story on social media, recounting how she received her car on August 26, 2023, and within two weeks of using it, she then sent it for its first service at the Gong Badak service centre in Terengganu, where issues began to surface.
"What I initially thought was just overheating turned out to be a source of great sorrow. After two days of servicing, the car suddenly faced problems, including the front lights and meter lights flashing uncontrollably. Additionally, the emergency lights also encountered the same issue," she wrote.
Returning the car to the service centre under warranty, she left it there for a week, hoping the issues would be resolved. Unfortunately, the problems persisted.
Being heavily pregnant at the time, Noriya expressed her disappointment, revealing that the issues with her dream car remained unresolved even after several months. "What saddens me greatly is that after giving birth in October, the car problems persisted. Despite being provided with an old Perodua Myvi as a temporary replacement, we were still dissatisfied."
The response from Honda was disheartening, as they claimed they couldn't identify the cause of the issue, and the matter persisted until last December. Noriya expressed frustration, highlighting the extended time Honda took to address the problem.
"My car had issues since August 2023, but only in December 2023 did Honda Malaysia finally come to inspect my car. After waiting for four months, only yesterday (Wednesday) they informed me that the issue with my car cannot be resolved.
"Honda Malaysia instructed me to contact the branch where I purchased the vehicle, but the response was disappointing after we were told to file a complaint with Honda Malaysia to get the best solution.
"I just want justice because every month, I have to make a monthly payment of RM1,500. I had high hopes of getting a new Honda HRV, but they informed me that it's not covered under warranty," she pleaded.
