Despite everyone's negative comments on the COVID-19 pandemic that affected the global economy and many lives were sacrificed due to this disease, nature appeared to be taking a break from humans. Apparently, many countries are having their lockdown/ Movement Control Order (MCO)/ circuit breaker (whatever you called it) and leaving all spaces free of the crowd, animals get to run free!

So here is a list of signs that the COVID-19 is actually a cure to nature:

1. Pink jellyfish sunbathing in Philippine

According to Gotrip.hk, one of the famous tourist spots in the Philippines, Palawan, which was known for its white-sand beach, carol reef and beautiful sceneries were often crowded with tourists. However, due to COVID-19, the number of tourists reduced significantly. It was photographed that thousands of pink jellyfish (Scientific name: Crambione mastigaophora) were seen near the beach, enjoying their sunbath.

Marine biologist, Sheldon Rey Boco shared on Twitter that this phenomenon was caused by the reduction of number in tourists and jellyfishes no longer feel threatened by the presence of human beings.

2. Fishes and swans returned to Venice

In a report by China Press stated that after Italy was in lockdown, Venice, one of the tourist spots, was free from the crowd. As the number of sailed boats reduced, the river became cleaner and that fishes could be seen enjoying themselves.

Not forgetting to mention that the swans too were returned to Vernice as there were no human beings there to disturb them.

3. Dolphins were spotted near the port

According to Kwang Hua, the pollution in Italy showed significant improvement after the lockdown imposed. A rare view of dolphins playing by the port was recorded by local residents as there were no longer tourists, ferries or fishing boats!

4. Endangered sea turtles were seen laying eggs in India

China Press reported that 280k sea turtles were seen nesting on the beach of Odisha, India. This endangered species of sea turtle, Olive ridley sea turtles, will nest every 7 years on the beach. Although it has been said that this incident has nothing to do with the COVID-19 lockdown, the possibility of the turtle eggs to hatch and return to the ocean has increased due to the absence of humans. And that these sea turtles could finally lay their eggs in peace without the disturb of humans.

5. Wild piglet found wandering the street in Segamat

Thanks to the MCO, vehicles on road and pedestrians have reduced dramatically. One wild piglet was found wandering the street, looking for its way back to the jungle. This 3-month-old piglet was photographed by a young man and that many cars have stopped and slowed down to avoid hitting it, as reported in Sin Chew Daily.

It has been said that humans are the virus attacking the Earth and that the COVID-19 is the cure for our mother nature. What do you think?
