Two suspects, including a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officer, who were detained by the police under the suspicion of being involved in an gang robbery case last Friday were on remand for three and four days respectively.
According to Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Noor Dellhan Yahaya, the arrests were made by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters (IPD), in which the group robbery had caused a total loss of RM700,000. "So far, a total of 12 individuals have been called to testify to assist in the investigation," he added.
During the incident, which happened around 12 PM (December 10th) last Friday, three men introduced themselves as enforcement officers of an enforcement agency and broke into the home of a businessman in his 50s. Two suspects, all in their 30's, were caught while one suspect is still at large.

MACC in a statement later confirmed that an officer of the commission was indeed detained by the police to assist in the investigation. So far, the case is still being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code.
Sadly, this is not the first time an officer of the law has abused their power. A few months ago, 2 SPRM officers were charged for committing RM 40K bribery.
