ICYMI: Man Collapses & Dies Waiting To Have Passport Processed At JB Immigration Complex
A video of a police sergeant springing into action to save a kitten from underneath a car on a busy road has gained praise from Malaysians.
The incident, caught on camera and shared on TikTok by user @sinwanghqbkh, showed Sergeant Mohd Effendi Karponan trying his best to save the kitten who was stuck in the car tyre of a white Perodua Myvi at a traffic light junction in front of Aman Sentral in Alor Setar, Kedah.
He was seen approaching and instructing the driver of the Myvi to steer to the left, and then went down to the tyre to try and grab the kitten. After a few tries, Effendi eventually saved the kitten and brought it to a secure spot on the roadside, just as the traffic light turned green.
The video was then reposted by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) on their official Facebook page, praising the good deed of the officer from the Kedah Police Contingent's Transport (Technical) Unit in saving the kitten.
"Doing good deeds is not only towards humans but also towards the creatures God has created."
"May the exemplary action demonstrated by him serve as an inspiration for fellow members," wrote PDRM while resharing the video.
In the comment section, the officer is lauded for his act of kindness.
"In a situation like this, there must be someone who complains about the jam. But the truth is, in that situation, without realising it, we have saved a life. Thank you to those who showed care during the incident," said user @Pak Man.
Another user @Hatimin Ttr wrote "Alhamdulillah, the heart of this person is truly noble, the best indeed."
