In a tragic incident in Pune, India, a 36-year-old real estate broker lost his life during a heated argument with his 38-year-old wife over her desire to celebrate her birthday in Dubai. The disagreement escalated, culminating in a fatal punch that struck the husband's nose, leading to a suspected case of suffocation due to a broken nose bone and bleeding.

The incident unfolded last Friday (24th) in the Ganga Satellite community in Wanwadi, where Neelesh, the 36-year-old man, and his wife, Reenuka, engaged in a verbal altercation that took a violent turn when Reenuka punched him in the face.

Unexpectedly, the punch resulted in a fractured nose bone for Neelesh, causing blood to accumulate in his airway, obstructing his breathing and ultimately leading to his death.

Neelesh's father recounted receiving an urgent call from Reenuka, urging him to rush home. Upon arrival, he discovered his son lying lifeless on the floor, naked and bleeding from the nose and mouth. Desperate attempts at CPR proved futile, and despite being rushed to the hospital, Neelesh could not be revived.

After reporting the incident to the police, Reenuka was arrested, and authorities are currently investigating the nature of the attack, considering possibilities of a forceful punch or the use of a blunt object. The police are awaiting the autopsy report to determine the exact cause of death.

According to Neelesh's father, the couple got married in 2017 and lived with other family members. However, their marital bliss was short-lived as arguments became a recurring theme soon after the wedding.

Reports suggest that the couple had been at odds since September 18 when Reenuka expressed her desire to celebrate her birthday in Dubai, a wish that Neelesh failed to fulfill, leaving her discontented. Furthermore, their disagreements escalated on November 5, their wedding anniversary, as Neelesh failed to present her with a gift she liked, resulting in another physical altercation.

The root cause of the fatal dispute was Reenuka's plan to travel to Delhi to celebrate her niece's birthday. Her anger stemmed from Neelesh's failure to confirm travel plans and arrange her flight, sparking the final argument that led to the tragic outcome.

Investigators have not yet been able to obtain Reenuka's statement as her mental state prevents her from coherent communication. Currently in custody, authorities plan to interview her in the coming days in an effort to piece together the events leading to the fatal altercation.
