In our neighbouring country, a viral incident revolves around a 16-year-old girl who, six months pregnant, found herself standing alone at the wedding altar after her husband fled following their marriage ceremony. According to reports, this incident occurred in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia.

It was said that the 18-year-old groom fled the scene on a motorcycle. Initially, both families had agreed to marry them to preserve family honour. They also decided to have a simple solemnization without a formal wedding reception. However, a few days before the wedding, the groom's family discovered that a wedding reception was planned. 

Invitations had already been distributed without their knowledge. Since this was a violation of the agreement, the groom's family decided to prevent the groom from sharing the wedding stage with his wife. According to sources, the bride and groom began their acquaintance in February 2023. Shortly after, they became involved, and the groom admitted to the relationship. However, after just four months of knowing each other, the bride informed the groom that she was pregnant, claiming that she was already five months pregnant at that point. 

Upon hearing this, the groom's family grew suspicious that the bride had been involved with another man prior to their relationship. This suspicion arose due to the fact that their acquaintance was only four months old, yet her pregnancy was nearly six months along. The wedding occurred as the bride's family insisted that the groom take responsibility for his actions. 

The groom's family eventually agreed to marry them. However, the incident as described above occurred due to the bride's family breaking the agreement.
