If you're a delivery rider, you've probably encountered numerous demanding customers. Just a few days ago, an Abang rider took to Facebook to share his experience of accepting a late order at 2 am, only to be called 'babi' (pig) by the customer due to the delay.
Ordering food in the early hours comes with the understanding that it might take some time, especially when it needs preparation and delivery.
The customer's patience wore thin and messaged the rider, 'Weh babi. Hurry up. have already placed my order a while back. I need to work tomorrow and didn't expect to wait more than an hour for it.
Shocked by the message, the rider explained that he had just received the order. He also went on to clarify on his social media post how the food delivery system differs from e-hailing bookings.
The orders placed by customers would usually need to be accepted by the merchants first and then only the riders would be assigned to the job. He urged customers to be patient, particularly when ordering late at night.
Many netizens expressed dismay at the harsh words directed at the rider, with some suggesting that the rider should have cancelled the order to teach the customer a lesson.
