Fifteen MYAirline employees have have filed a police report against the airline, that has just recently announced their suspension. The employees claim that MYAirline hasn't paid them for the past two months, causing significant financial hardships.
Abdul Salam Nek Kamal, a customer service officer at MYAirline, stressed the uncertainty they face in terms of their job status. Although they haven't been officially terminated, they haven't received their salaries. This has caused immense stress, particularly for those with young children. Some have even faced eviction from their homes due to rent non-payment.
Abdul Salam previously worked in a similar role at another company but was enticed to join MYAirline with the promise of a higher salary. However, when they inquired about their overdue wages, the management's response has consistently been, "Please hold on a bit." The employees are now seeking clarity and a definite timeline for receiving their salaries.
Accompanied by the Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) secretary-general, Kamarul Baharin Mansor, the employees criticized MYAirline for unprofessional behavior. MTUC is urging the government to thoroughly investigate the company's operations and ensure prompt payment of the workers' salaries.
