Yesterday (April 19), 34 men were arrested in Penang mainland for defying the Movement Control Order (MCO).
The North Seberang Prai Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Noor told the press that the suspects were detained in various locations, including Butterworth, Mak Mandin, Sungai Pinang, Seri Pinang, and Kepala Batas. The suspects are aged between 27 and 46.

He said that the suspects were caught during an MCO enforcement operation by the Task Force Op Covid team from the district police headquarters.
"They were detained for violating the MCO by gathering at public places," said ACP Noorzainy.
He also added that 16 of those were Nepalis and 8 from Myanmar.
All suspects were arrested under Regulation 11 (1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Disease Regulations 2020, Section 269 and Section 186 of the Penal Code.
He urges the public to adhere to MCO and give cooperation to the government and authorities.
