At an age when most people are enjoying their retirement, Toh Hong Keng, a 70-year-old man from Port Dickson, Malaysia, chose a different path. In July, Toh became the world's oldest medical school graduate after earning his degree from Southwestern University in Cebu, Philippines.

Before pursuing his passion for medicine, Toh spent nearly three decades living in Hong Kong, working as an executive for a multinational company. When he retired at the age of 65, he could have opted for a leisurely life, but instead, he chose to follow his long-held dream of studying medicine.

Toh's journey to becoming a doctor was not without its challenges. He faced significant obstacles, including having to repeat a year after failing a pediatrics exam. Additionally, he endured grueling 30-hour internship shifts that almost led him to quit. Despite these hardships, Toh's determination never wavered. With the unwavering support of his family and classmates, he persevered and successfully completed his studies.

The dean of the medical school praised Toh's resilience and commitment, emphasizing that he never requested special treatment throughout the demanding five-year program. His story is an inspiring example of perseverance, dedication, and the belief that it's never too late to pursue one's dreams.

Toh Hong Kengs remarkable achievement is a testament to the power of passion and determination, showing that age is truly just a number when it comes to achieving one's dreams.
