In a shocking display of anger, a man assaulted his friend outside a lottery shop after the latters forgetfulness cost them both the chance to become millionaires. The incident, captured in a 32-second video, has since gone viral on social media, leaving many stunned by the intense altercation.
The footage shows two men engaged in a violent scuffle, throwing punches and kicks at one another in front of a Sandakan Turf Club 4D (STC 4D) lottery outlet in Donggongon, Penampang, Sabah. Passersby can be seen watching the fight unfold, with one brave bystander eventually stepping in to break up the altercation, pushing the men apart after a tense and chaotic few moments.
According to reports from Daily Express, the incident took place on December 29, following a drinking session. The two friends had gone to the lottery shop to check the results of a 4D lottery draw, hoping for a big win. However, their hopes were dashed when one of them discovered that the number that had won the grand prize was one his friend was supposed to have purchased. Unfortunately, the friend had forgotten to buy the ticket three days prior, missing out on a potentially life-changing opportunity.
Frustrated and bitter over the loss, the man who had been left out of the win turned his anger on his friend, leading to the physical confrontation that was captured in the now-viral video.
According to NST, the lottery in question allows players to choose numbers ranging from 0000 to 9999, with 23 winning numbers drawn during each session. To win, participants must match their chosen number with one of the drawn winning numbers. However, despite the potential for significant monetary rewards, the two friends' attempt to win turned into a moment of violence, showing just how far a missed opportunity can escalate emotions.
The fight ultimately ended when a bystander intervened, separating the men and putting an end to their chaotic brawl.
