The police are actively pursuing five local men who were allegedly involved in a street brawl at Batu 8, Jalan Tanjung Rambutan-Tambun, Ulu Kinta. The incident came to the attention of the authorities after a video depicting the altercation went viral on various social media platforms.
Assistant Commissioner Yahaya Hassan, the District Police Chief of Ipoh, revealed that their initial investigation indicates the brawl occurred at approximately 5:30 PM last Thursday. The case is being examined under Section 148 of the Penal Code, which pertains to the offense of rioting with weapons. The video, lasting 16 seconds, vividly portrays a group of men wielding rattan sticks during the confrontation.

"In light of the video evidence, we are diligently probing the underlying cause of the incident and working to identify all individuals involved," stated Assistant Commissioner Yahaya Hassan in a press statement released today.
Based on the footage, it appears that a heated argument between the individuals escalated, leading to the assault of one man on the road by three others, who were donning motorcycle helmets at the time.
The police are now appealing to members of the public who witnessed the altercation or possess any relevant information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. Valuable eyewitness accounts or additional evidence could prove crucial to resolving the case.
