In a recent incident at a shopping center near Klang Sentral, a toddler narrowly escaped a kidnapping attempt by two foreigners on Monday evening.
The Assistant Commissioner S Vijaya Rao, North Klang District Police Chief, revealed that the terrifying incident unfolded while the toddler, accompanied by her mother and sibling, rode an escalator within the shopping center premises.
"At approximately 7:30 in the evening, the suspects, without warning, seized the one-year-seven-month-old girl from behind," stated Assistant Commissioner S Vijaya Rao in a statement released on Tuesday.
The quick thinking of the victim's mother averted a potential tragedy, as she reacted swiftly, raising an alarm and managing to rescue her child from the clutches of the suspects.
Following the foiled abduction attempt, the perpetrators attempted to flee the scene, but were promptly apprehended by members of the public.
