Do you have friends who studying ACCA qualification. Are they always complaining they are broke, not enough money or do not have saving? If you think them are lying, you better read this. They actually not lying on you! Do you know how much to spend to obtain the globally recognised qualification?
#1 ACCA Student
First you have to register as an ACCA Student, the registration fee is £79 or RM 426 (with 5.4 exchange rate). Once registered you can start taking exams. You can choose to self study or attend classes to learn the syllabus. The tuition fee for 1 paper is about RM1,200 (Prices at year 2017). If you attend classes for every paper, it will cost you a lot.
Of course, exam is not free! You have to pay for your exam fee. For me, my last paper is on 2018 and the price is £125 or RM675 (with 5.4 exchange rate). The exam fee price will adjust yearly. For latest entry, the exam fee is £133 for early entry. If you register late, you have to pay more. You can just calculate, ACCA students have to spend a lot only on exam fee. Note that you are not guaranteed pass for the papers.
If you can't finish all the papers in 1 year, you have to pay for ACCA Student subscription fee yearly. Subscription Fee for 2020 is £122 or RM 659 (with 5.4 exchange rate).
#2 ACCA Affiliate
Students who finished all the papers will be called Affiliate. If you are a degree holder and exempted from exams, you need to pay for exemption fee. Subscription fee for Affiliate is £129 or RM 697 (with 5.4 exchange rate). You need at least 3 year working experiences before upgrading to ACCA member. You would need to pay subscription fee for 3 times or 3 years if you have no working experiences at all. If you are working and have at least 3 years working experiences at the time you finished all your papers, you can apply to upgrade from Student to Member.
#3 ACCA Member
When you meet the criteria to apply to become ACCA Member, you need to pay an one time admission fee of £246or RM 1,328 (with 5.4 exchange rate). After that, yearly member subscription fee is £258 or RM 1,393 (with 5.4 exchange rate). You must pay the subscription fee in order to maintain as ACCA member.

If your friend is working and studying ACCA, the money spent and time spent is far more than you can imagine. Everyone has their own dream and planning, we should not discourage them because of the price. Next time your ACCA friends said they are brokeass don't say they are lying ya !
