In today's fast-paced world, things can feel out of control at times. Thus, it is important to find little pleasures in everyday life. Want to upgrade your life? Be sure to check out these good habits below.

[ 01 // Practice Daily Meditation ]

Many people often cower away when meditation is mentioned. The truth is, meditation is not as difficult as it seems. It does not mean that you have to attend a yoga retreat or find your 'zen' to meditate. All you need to do is find a quiet space, sit or lie down, close your eyes, and focus on your breathing. Or as an alternative, follow guided meditation videos on YouTube. It's that simple. Try meditating for 5 minutes every night to unwind the body for rest and relieve your mind from stress. You'll see how your life can change in the long run.

Eating homecooked meals not only saves money, but it is also more beneficial for our body. Compared to homecooked meals, takeaways contain seasonings and preservatives that are harmful to the body, not to mention that they are expensive too. So it would certainly be better to cook simple and healthy meals for yourself at least once daily. The Internet has many resources available for beginners. There are also plenty of quick and easy recipes too.

The human body needs some mobilisation throughout the day. Unfortunately, those with desk jobs are not able to get the necessary mobilisation, thus causing bad posture that manifests as neck and shoulder pains and also backaches. This problem can easily be solved with moderate exercise. Exercising does not necessarily imply that you have to hit the gym or attend a fitness class if you cannot afford to. You can easily workout at home as well. Try simple stretches, yoga or any other form of exercise that you are comfortable with.

Make it a habit to read 5 pages a day before going to sleep. Although it may not look like much, if you keep it up for a month or two, you can easily finish a whole book. Be it fiction or non-fiction, pick your favourite genre and dive in. It can also help you to destress and simultaneously allow you to learn, gain new knowledge and generate new ideas. It is also a good idea to write down our thoughts about the book and take notes about the things we learned after reading.

Be grateful for the pleasant moments in life. Write down 3 things that made your day every night before sleep. Be it a simple gathering with friends, a small achievement at school or work, or a gesture of kindness from a stranger, writing down happy moments can make an impact on our attitudes. When we shift our perspectives to the positive, our life will gradually have more good days and we will gradually develop a positive and optimistic attitude toward life.
