According to the mosque committee, the male suspect was captured on CCTV footage breaking into the donation box at 10:14 AM on June 6th and again at 2 AM on June 8th. The female suspect was seen assisting her husband in their ill-intentioned act, but their efforts ultimately failed.
Dungun District Police Chief, Superintendent Baharudin Abdullah, stated, "Based on the CCTV recordings, the male suspect is believed to have visited the mosque to break the donation box, while the female suspect was seen aiding him. However, their attempts were thwarted."
To make matters worse, the urine test conducted on both suspects revealed that the male tested positive for methamphetamine, while the female tested negative.
The case is now being investigated under Section 388 of the Penal Code and Section 511 of the same act.
