Just a few days ago, Instagram decided that 'squares' were not in anymore and that 'portrait' is the way to go!
Yes, we're talking about the feed layout. (Who isn't?!)
However, the minute the update kicked in, users worldwide loaded up all their complaints.
Many saying that the vibe is off, it looks ugly and for those who curated their feed on Instagram, seems to be suffering the most!
That is why, for those struggling to adjust, Instagram has offered a workaround to adjust the format slightly.
Here's how:
1. Go to your profile and select the photo you'd like to adjust.
2. Tap on the three dots at the upper-right conner.
3. Choose 'Adjust preview' from the menu.
4. Select 'Fill' to revert the image to its original size.

Adam Mosseri, Instagram's head acknowledged the backlash in a statement on his account.
He says, "we started with the tall grid because most photos and videos that are uploaded to Instagram at this point are vertical and rectangles do a better job showing off those photos and videos, but I know some of you spend a lot of time tweaking your grids and this blew all of that up, so were going to improve the ability to customize those thumbnails."
In his post, Adam also announces Instagram's plans to launch three major updates:
1. Move highlights into the grid and add them as a tab.
2. A new tool so you can re-order your entire grid and make it whatever you want.
3. The ability to post directly to your grid, in case you want to bypass feed entirely.
Wow, major, major updates indeed!
