A Malaysian woman has safely given birth to her baby girl, albeit under strange circumstances, in a pickup truck with the help of other Malaysians in the area near a temple in Batu Caves during the Thaipusam celebration yesterday.
Journalist LK Savarantharaja, 45, said that during the 7:24 AM incident, he was on his way to the temple in conjunction with the Thaipusam celebration before he heard a woman's voice screaming for help.
"After finding out the woman was in labor, I with the help of other onlookers helped to find a cloth to celebrate the birth of the baby," Savarantharaja explained. "I searched for a knife before handing it over to a woman for her to cut the baby's umbilical cord who was safely born soon after."
The medical team arrived shortly after and the woman was then immediately taken to the hospital for further treatment.
