A man fell victim to a snatch theft when his phone was grabbed by a motorcyclist while he was near the pedestrian crossing at the popular tourist spot, Pasar Seni, in Kuala Lumpur.
The incident, which was captured on a vehicles dashcam, went viral on Sunday. The 18-second video shows the victim standing on the pedestrian walkway, using his phone with his hand resting on a roadside barrier near the crossing.
In the footage, a motorcyclist dressed in dark clothing approaches the victim. Suddenly, the rider snatches the phone from the mans hand and speeds away. Stunned by the sudden theft, the victim is seen unable to react and can only watch as the suspect escapes.
This incident has garnered significant attention online, especially due to its occurrence near a major tourist attraction in Kuala Lumpur. The viral video suggests the theft took place on Saturday around 12:14 PM.

Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Noor Dellhan Yahaya, confirmed that no formal report had been filed regarding the incident at the time of his statement. However, he assured that the police are investigating the matter and are working to identify and apprehend the perpetrator.
The case highlights concerns about safety in busy tourist areas and underscores the need for vigilance against such opportunistic crimes.
