SELF-DISCIPLINE: THE ULTIMATE KEY TO SUCCESS
"Life is difficult", almost everyone said it, knowing the fact that nothing rewarding ever comes easy, especially becoming a successful person. Being self-disciplined is the no. 1 delineating factor between the rich, the middle class and the poor, Robert Kiyosaki stated, in order to achieve success, self-discipline is the most prominent yet requisite requirement for it. We could just start now by practicing some simple habits in our daily lives!
1. Having Clear Life Goals and Execute a Detailed Plan
By identifying your own unique and distinctive strengths and talents, we could have a clear image of what are we capable of doing in our lives and how we will then realize the success we strive for.
Then, start planning based on what you can do every day and what effective measures that could be taken to improve yourself. The plan does not really have to be intricate but it should be methodical and practicable enough to conform to our diligence so that we would not be too stressed out. What is the point of being successful when you are not healthy enough to enjoy your life?
2. Prioritize Matters
Learning what is needed rather than wanted is definitely a test passed by all disciplined person. A self-controlled person would not be tempted and knows how to differentiate what is essential for the path for us to achieve greatness and not short term gratifications. For example, refusing to join meaningless gatherings and training ourselves to be inured of loneliness, focusing on our tasks.
Well, marginalizing your family and friends are undoubtedly wrong; what is meant here is that we should ignore people who may be wasting our time.
3. Become a Self-retrospective Person
People nowadays tend to blame others for their own wrongs and inefficiency when solving a problem as well as making complaints as if it is useful. Before saying it was somebody else's fault, we should think back thoroughly and ask questions like "Is there anything I could have done to help prevent it?". While having these types of questions in our minds, we are improving because we could think of a more substantial approach to the problems before and be more prepared for any challenges ahead. This is extremely vital for every facet of our own personal development including spiritual growth and occupational skills.
4. Forgive Yourself and Move Forward
It does not matter how much we had prepared and planned, and sometimes things do not go like the way we planned. Life depicts a journey full of unexpected obstacles and of course, mistakes are inevitable and unavoidable. The thing is we stand up every time we fall.
Feeling bad for our own faults is totally normal but living in denial is miserable. We should be paying attention to how to prevent mistakes like this from occurring again, not thinking of how to make amends. With only this way, we could learn how to move on and not creating another subconscious barrier towards a better quality of life, which we have known as success.
The major step is to always believe in yourself as self-confidence is the key to almost everything because we could only be successful if we believe that we are capable of being successful. Remember, self-discipline is the ultimate key to success!
