Based on recent announcement by Anthony Loke (FMT), men will now face a fine if they ride in women-only carriages on the train.
A legislation is being drafted to impose fines on men who enter carriages reserved for women passengers on trains, according to transport minister Anthony Loke.
He noted that commuter service providers like KTMB and MRT have been asked to step up and monitor these carriages.
The minister also said that auxiliary police personnel will be stationed more frequently at stations to ensure that men do not enter women carriages.
"We are drafting regulations to impose fines. Right now, there is no rule that allows us to fine men who enter carriages designated for women" he said.
Loke also added that men should respect women carriages, which allow female passengers to travel in safety and comfort.
