Guess some Malaysians are either too stubborn or can’t understand a simple order from the government. When the government said no interstate travel, please lah, stay put at your current location!
The Star reported that many Malaysians are still trying their luck to see whether they could get passed the roadblocks and police to balik kampung for Hari Raya Aidilfitri. And of course, these people were ordered home by the authorities.
According to the police, 3,212 vehicles were stopped on Tuesday (May 19).
“When the vehicles were stopped, the passengers admitted to the police that they wanted to go back to their hometowns for Hari Raya. They were immediately ordered to turn back, ” Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob disclosed.
Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob emphasized that interstate travel was still prohibited except for emergency cases or work purposes, which these Malaysians will also have to get the approval at the police station, as reported in Bernama.
As reported earlier that single people are advised to stay put at their current location, instated of returning to their hometowns. It is understandable that these Malaysians, who are going to celebrate the festive season apart from their family members, are not easy, especially when their parents are at their hometowns.
However, looking at the current situation, this is the best for the country when battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please understand that the war against COVID-19 has yet ended so please comply with the government’s order!
