SEREMBAN-A 21-month-old girl had to be rushed to Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital after being bitten by a monkey just outside her home in Taman Dusun Nyior, here, at 8.40 this morning.
The incident was confirmed by the Director of the Negeri Sembilan Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan), Wan Mat Wan Harun.
According to Wan Mat, his team received a complaint from a woman who claimed that her child was injured due to a monkey bite and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.
“Acting on the complaint, members of the Wildlife department came to the victim's house assess the situation. Upon reaching the victim's house, the monkey that attacked the victim was still on a tree across the road in front of the victim's house, and the Department had to shoot the monkey.
"The adult male monkey weighing about eight kilograms have been brought to the office for further action," he said when contacted here earlier.
Wan Mat said the child was still in the hospital and was detained in the ward for further treatment following injuries to the back of the body.
According to him, Perhilitan will help the victim's family by requesting the victim's family to fill in the wild animal attack fund form.
We hope the child recovers from her injuries soon and that the family will receive the aid provided by the Perhilitan.
