A video shared by TikTok user @staywoke_property has caught the attention of Malaysians after revealing an unusual method used by a condominium to deal with unpaid maintenance fees by publicly displaying the names and unit numbers of defaulters on a large electronic board.

@staywokeproperty You won't wanna have your name on that board. Maintenance fees keep our homes safe, clean, and running smoothly. From functioning elevators to well-lit corridors, it all adds up. Lets do our bit to keep our community thriving. #staywokeproperty #staywokeprop #houserental #rentalproperty #rental #FamilyHome #KualaLumpur #LandedProperty #kl #HouseForSale #HonestReview #CondoReview #PerfectHome #FamilyLiving #KLLiving #RentalMarket #propertyreview #propertymalaysia #ConvenientLiving #condo #CommunityFirst #maintenancematters #ResponsibleLiving #maintenance #pov #payyourbills #aninternmadethis original sound - staywokeproperty

In the viral clip, which has already amassed over 100k views, the display board can be seen listing out unit numbers along with censored names of residents who have yet to pay their dues. But what really got people talking were the hefty amounts some of them owed, with figures reportedly ranging from RM5,000 to more than RM15,000.

The unconventional move has sparked mixed reactions online. While some netizens sympathized with the management's attempt to recover overdue payments, others questioned the ethics and legality of exposing private information in such a public way, even with the names blurred out in the TikTok video.

As the debate continues, one thing is clear: this bold tactic has certainly stirred conversations about accountability, privacy, and how far is too far when it comes to collecting dues.
