A disturbing incident unfolded in a residential area in Lembah Subang, leading to the arrest of a 29-year-old man following an altercation with his wife and three-year-old son last Sunday.
The Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhruddin Abdul Hamid, revealed that the distressing episode transpired at the family's residence around 11:50 AM. It was alleged that the trigger for the altercation was the young child accidentally wetting the sofa in the living room.
Investigations conducted by authorities suggested that the suspect, in a fit of rage, resorted to physically assaulting both his son and wife when he allegedly failed to control his anger over the sofa incident.
The severity of the situation prompted swift action from law enforcement, resulting in the apprehension of the suspect by a team of police officers the following day.
The suspect is presently in custody, as authorities pursue a thorough investigation into the matter. Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhruddin disclosed that the case is being evaluated under the provisions of Section 323 of the Penal Code, Section 18A of the Domestic Violence Act, and Section 31 (1) (a) of the Child Act 2001.
