ICYMI: WATCH: Man In Penang Arrested For Repeatedly Smashing Helmet Against Car And Provoking Its Occupants After Collision

A foreign maid was treated worse than a dog. Her employer locked her on the balcony of the apartment and did not allow her to enter the house. She later managed to escape by throwing a note for help!

According to Harian Metro, the victim, an Indonesian maid, is 21 years old.

She has been locked outside the balcony of a condominium in Mutiara Damansara by her employer for the past week. During this period, her employer only provided her with a mattress and pillow. Even when it rained, she had to sleep on the wet ground and was not allowed to enter the house.

At 5pm on June 9, 2024, officers from the Anti-Human Trafficking (D3) and Illegal Immigration (ATIPSOM) Team of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) raided the unit and successfully rescued the maid.

Senior Assistant Director Soffian Santong, Anti-Human Trafficking and Illegal Immigration Director of Bukit Aman D3, revealed that the victim was a maid of a local family who was arranged to live on the balcony of the apartment.

Except for entering the house to clean, the victim was locked on the balcony and was not allowed to enter the house at other times.

"The victim was only allowed to enter the house to carry out cleaning work after receiving instructions from the employer between 5am and 11am. After completing the work, he was instructed to return to the balcony, and then the employer locked the door."

It is understood that the victim has not received her salary from her employer as she only started working at the residence about a week ago.

"The employer provided the victim with three meals a day. However, the victim was scolded by the employer every day and was locked in the balcony."

"The victim wrote a note and threw it out from the balcony to seek help from others."

He said police subsequently arrested a 69-year-old woman believed to be the victim's employer.

Police are investigating the case under Section 12 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007 (ATIPSOM) and Section 55B of the Immigration Act 1956/63.

This employer doesn't even treat the maid as a human being, right?! I hope the employer will get the punishment he deserves.
