Raya may feel a little out of touch this time around, but that doesn‘t mean we can’t still bask in its spirits. Even though balik kampung is out of the question this year, at least there's one tradition that all Malaysian can still look forward to— and that is iconic Raya ads, of course.
This one from Gamuda Land is so brilliantly made, weaved with heartwarming elements that end with a lesson, that of which many of us may have forgotten to practice. Watch below:
While we're at it, Gamuda Land should be applauded for the inclusivity shown in this short film, and for putting a spotlight on the disabled community. Cikgu Moji, played by the popular actress Jasmine Suraya, represents the acts of selflessness and how it could change someone's negative perspectives towards the world. Yes, life may be cruel; but we don't have to follow suit.
This Raya short film from Gamuda Land reminds us to always be thoughtful in our ways and to remind ourselves that everybody is fighting their own battles behind closed doors, therefore choosing to be kind does go a long way.
