If you think the wedding you attended last weekend was grand since weddings seem to be happening every week now, you are wrong. This couple both of whom share an interest and love for movies decided to have an Oscar-themed wedding ceremony!
Megan Chin and Benjamin Wong decided to honour their love for movies on the most important day of their lives, their wedding. Benjamin works at Sunway Pyramid running events while his new bride Megan works in Disney Malaysia.
After being forced to postpone their wedding due to the pandemic, they decided to turn it into something positive and use the time they had been given to transform their wedding into an elaborate movie-themed event wedding.
And they certainly succeeded!
They made a special Star Wars Wedding Imperial March-In that was complete with the full soundtrack, stormtroopers, lightsabers and much more! They even had a Star Wars-themed cake!
To make things even more extravagant, they performed a thematic Latin dance from Dirty Dancing and it was professionally recorded!
I wonder how long it took them to practice and memorise all the steps!
Also, to tell the story of how they met, this film-loving couple had to turn it into a film, or they aren't true film fans, are they? They took inspiration from the K-drama series Crash Landing on You and recreated scenes from the drama in Cameron Highlands.
Their wedding ceremony was also filled with iconic selfie spots as every inch of the venue including the hall, foyer, tables, and LED screens was decorated with an Oscar theme! Guests were even greeted by 2 huge golden Oscar statues upon entering the venue!
There were even movie posters that were photoshopped to feature Benjamin and Megan's faces! How cool is that?
Congratulations on your wedding Benjamin and Megan! May your love for each other and for movies grow stronger!
If you could have a themed wedding ceremony, what theme would you choose? I think I'd want a Harry Potter/Hogwarts-themed wedding for sure! Share your answers in the comments section, we'd love to hear your ideas!
