Women‘s Health Care Steps at Different Phases | 20s 30s 40s

Whether you’re a man or a woman or whatever gender, you should always be concerned about your health. Being of good health is the only way you can continue living for as long as possible. 

As a woman, as you grow lder there are more and more changes in your body that give you more and more reasons to worry. That is why it is important to consider some of the health care steps and treatments you should get to ensure you can maximize your health. 

While it is also important to practice proper nutrition, necessary exercise, get adequate sleep and maintain overall emotional health, you should also consider the following health care steps at each phase of our life: 

 

+ Teen Years

Health Care Steps: 

1. HPV Vaccine

2. 4 servings of milk a day for strong bones

3. Sex Education – Begin birth control and STI screenings for sexually active teens

4. Meet a gynaecologist if experiencing painful, heavy or irregular periods

Health Care Steps: 

1. Gynaecologist exam and pap smear by 21 years of age (check every 3 years)

2. Breast exams

3. Keep your cholesterol in check

4. Pre-pregnancy care – comprehensive exams, lab tests and health screenings

5. Family planning – fertility treatments if necessary 


+ 30s

Health Care Steps: 

1. Get treatment is start experiencing sexual pain or dissatisfaction

2. Explore birth control options – tubal ligation if family is complete

3. Pap smears and HPV tests

4. Continue normal annual exams for your general health

Health Care Steps: 

1. Endometrial ablations and hormonal IUDs to treat heavy bleeding

2. First and annual mammogram

3. Exercise and build up calcium and vitamin D to maintain bone health

4. Perimenopausal Symptoms – hot flashes, sleeping problems, depression or anxiety, sexual pain or dissatisfaction may increase
