TUMPAT - The body of a fisherman was found by his own father after falling from his boat while fishing in the waters of Pantai Sri Tujuh here today.
The victim, Mohamad Farhan Abdul Razak, 23, was found by his father, Razak Ismail, 59, at about 4am. It is believed that the boat he was in overturned.
The victim's younger sister, Nur Ayuni Abdul Razak, 22, said the third child of the five siblings went out fishing in a separate boat with his father.
According to her, every day the two of them would leave their house in Kampung Baru Nelayan at 2 am to go fishing at Pantai Sri Tujuh.
"Usually, my brother and father will come home safely. Today, I received a call from my father’s friend who was at the scene informing me that my brother had drowned.
"I went straight to Pantai Sri Tujuh and saw my brother's body was already on the jetty in the arms of my father," he said tearfully when contacted by reporters today.
Meanwhile, Tumpat District Deputy Chief of Police, Deputy Superintendent Mohd. Razi Rosli when contacted said that his party received a report on the incident by the victim's friend at 6.30 this morning.
"Investigation found that the man's body was found about 13 nautical miles from the Pantai Seri Tujuh jetty and brought back by his own father to the Pantai Seri Tujuh jetty," he said.
