In spite of Malaysia's soaring inflation and cost of living, many people are benefiting from Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's Menu Rahmah project, a low-cost meal replacement programme that has been adopted nationally.
European travellers Pat and Giulia, also known online as @veggiesontour, made a video applauding the Menu Rahmah programme, saying that the UK prime minister should take a page out of PM Anwar's book when it comes to helping their people.
In the video, Pat underlined that there are numerous Menu Rahmah alternatives available in various locales, including vegetarian options (although it could require some research), all of which have a fixed price of RM5.

The locals, on the other hand, are calling it a temporary solution to a permanent problem; a performative deviation to the core of a much bigger issue. The Menu Rahmah programme, in the absence of substantial government assistance, will, in the opinion of Malaysians, only be effective for a little while before the cost becomes too great for these enterprises to bear.
