In contrast to previous leaders of the Malaysian government, Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar stated he has been able to work productively with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as prime minister.
In a recent interview with The Star, he claimed that their regular meetings and phone calls allowed them to discuss a variety of topics, particularly his plans for the development of Johor, which ultimately helps them get along better.
Additionally, he was quoted as adding that the Anwar administration must live up to the high standards Malaysians hold them to in order to eradicate corruption, which he referred to as a "disease," in the country.
