When it comes to dress codes, they vary from place to place. For example, non-Muslim women are expected to cover their heads with a hijab when entering a mosque, while hospitals have strict rules against wearing revealing or knee-length shorts, as we've seen in previous incidents.
But now, the issue of dress codes has taken a surprising turn, even in a luxurious restaurant in Kuala Lumpur.
According to reports, two local male customers were denied entry into the upscale establishment after failing to adhere to the prescribed dress code. Instead, they were wearing shorts.
In response, the restaurant provided them with sarongs so they can be allowed to enjoy their dinner at the prestigious venue.
He had spent over RM1,000 on vouchers to dine at a popular fancy restaurant, located in the Kuala Lumpur Tower.
While the dress code didn't pose any issues for women and children in their group, it was only him and his father who were not allowed entry due to their attire.
Initially, they considered canceling their purchase and requesting a refund. However, the restaurant's policy didn't allow for such actions, leaving them with no choice but to wear the provided sarongs.
A quick search on the restaurant's website revealed that the restaurant had clearly stated the dress code for both male and female customers looking to indulge in their dining experience.
Surprisingly, it seems that these two customers were not the only ones to encounter this sarong situation at the upscale restaurant. Reports suggest that others have also experienced similar incidents.
While some found wearing the sarongs to be an amusing experience, others felt it was an unnecessary occurrence.
