An elderly Swiss man encountered a leg cramp while attempting to refuel his Perodua Myvi, resulting in an accident at a Taman Canning gas station today. The incident, occurring around 10:30 AM, led to a woman in her 30s sustaining a leg injury.
Assistant Commissioner Yahaya Hassan, the Ipoh District Police Chief, detailed that the 77-year-old experienced a leg cramp while adjusting his vehicle for refueling. This caused an unintended acceleration, leading to the car crashing into the glass wall of a nearby premises.

The collision also involved a Yamaha Y16ZR motorcycle, owned by a delivery company, parked in front of the shop. Subsequently, a woman within the premises suffered an injury to her right leg due to the impact.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident. The case is currently under investigation in accordance with Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (Rule 10 LN 166/59).
