7 members of Istana Negara staff has been confirmed with COVID-19 on 26th March and they are currently under proper care at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
The Comptroller of the Royal Household, Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, confirms that Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah had undergone the COVID-19 test and the result came out negative. The same goes to the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
Both the King and the Queen are now undergoing self-quarantine period for 14 days, starting from 25th March.
He also added that the YDPA was advised not to hold the pre-Cabinet weekly meeting with the PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for the following few weeks, until the situation has improved.
A series of disinfection action will be carried out at the Istana Negara as according to the safety and health guidelines given by the MOH. And the close contacts of the 7 staffs have been instructed to get tested and undergo self-quarantine to prevent the virus from spreading further.
